About Us & Our Story

Enjoy an Exceptional
Journey of taste

Our menu evolves constantly with what the land and sea provide, with a special focus on wild foraged foods. These unique coastal flavours are reimagined in modern, creative dishes that reflect our surroundings and the changing seasons.

Our story began many years ago, along the rugged coastline of Pembrokeshire. We both grew up here—immersed in the rhythms of the sea, the changing seasons, and the ancient tradition of foraging with our grandparents. The shoreline was our playground, our pantry, and our classroom. And though we’d known each other since childhood, it wasn’t until later in life that we came back together, drawn by a shared love of food, fire, and the place we’ve always called home.

As our lives began to entwine, so did our passions. We spent weekends cooking outdoors—just the two of us, a fire, and whatever fresh, foraged, or local ingredients we could find. What started as simple shared meals soon became something bigger: cooking for friends, hosting gatherings, and eventually creating private dining experiences and wild feasts across Pembrokeshire.

About Us & Our Story

Our menu evolves constantly with what the land and sea provide

Tan a Môr grew naturally from this love—love for each other, for the land and sea, and for the incredible community of people who make this part of Wales so special. It’s a reflection of our partnership, our shared vision, and the belief that food can bring people closer to nature, to one another, and to something deeper and more meaningful.

In winter 2025, we began an exciting new chapter: opening our very first restaurant on the Dale seafront at Dale Yacht Club. Overlooking the water that shaped our childhoods, this space felt like a full-circle moment — fire and sea meeting once again, but this time with doors open year-round.

What makes this milestone even more meaningful is the unwavering support of our community. From the very beginning — from our first wild feasts to our most recent gatherings — the local community have shown up for us, believed in us, and championed what we do. The encouragement, the shared tables, the word-of-mouth recommendations, and the trust placed in us to cook for life’s most special moments have carried us to this point. Without that support, we simply wouldn’t be where we are today.

None of this would be possible without the team we’ve built together—each of us bringing our strengths, creativity, and care into every event and now into our restaurant kitchen. At its heart, Tân a Môr is about connection: to place, to people, and to the fire that brings it all together.

And as we step into this next chapter by the sea, we do so with deep gratitude — for the coast that raised us, the community that sustains us, and the shared table that continues to grow.

About Us & Our Story

A rich & varied background

With a background as rich and varied as the feasts she helps bring to life, Kate brings a creative, grounded energy to everything we do at Tan a Môr. After earning her Fine Art degree, Kate travelled the world—living, working, teaching, cooking, and bartending across continents. Her journey has taken her from vibrant cities to remote coastlines, always fuelled by curiosity, connection, and a love of people and place.

Before returning home to Pembrokeshire, Kate spent years in education, specialising in primary science and sustainability. She’s worked with renowned institutions including the National STEM Centre in York, Bath University, and the European Space Agency’s education team—fostering creativity, critical thinking, and a sense of wonder in young minds.

She also ran a small, soulful kitchen in Peckham, South London, where her passion for seasonal cooking and community dining truly took root. Today, Kate’s artistic eye, deep respect for nature, and love for shared meals shape everything from the look of our tables to the stories behind each ingredient.

A proud Pembrokeshire native, Kate is driven by a desire to protect and sustain this beautiful place for future generations. Her love for her family, the land, and her community is woven into every fire she lights and every gathering she helps to create.

About Us & Our Story

Equal parts adventurer, craftsman, and cook

Jonathan is the fire at the heart of Tan a Môr. A former professional rugby player for Wales, he’s spent his life outdoors—exploring coastlines, chasing waves, and embracing a life led by the elements.

Jonathan is a skilled metalworker and creative builder, crafting every fire pit, grill, and cooking station we use—each one designed by hand and built to honour the wild settings we cook in. He’s also built off-grid cabins, wood-fired ovens, and wild cooking rigs that make every feast at Tan a Môr truly unique.

A passionate forager, fisherman, and spearfisher, Jonathan has travelled the world in search of waves, flavours, and inspiration—from reef-lined coastlines to bustling food markets. But his heart has always belonged to Pembrokeshire. He’s an expert in local seaweeds and shellfish, often hand-diving for crab and lobster, and his deep connection to the coastline is woven into every dish we serve.

Jonathan is driven by a love for his family, a respect for the natural world, and a commitment to living and working sustainably. Whether he’s gathering seaweed, crafting from steel, or cooking over flame, his work is a reflection of his values: creativity, resilience, and deep care for the land and sea we call home.
